Commercial Cleaning in Harford County: How Two Arrows Builds Cleaning Systems That Actually Work

March 11, 2026

By Lia Barreto, Co-Owner of Two Arrows Cleaning Services

I’m Lia, co-owner of Two Arrows Cleaning Services. When we take on a commercial client, we truly treat it like a partnership.

If someone reaches out to us, it usually means something is not working the way it should. There may be a frustration, a gap in service, or an important need inside their facility that has not been addressed. We take that seriously from the very first conversation.

Building the Scope of Work Together

The first thing we do is sit down with the client and build the scope of work together. It is not just us saying, “This is what we do,” and leaving it at that.

It is a real conversation.

Clients tell us what matters most to them, what they want included, what they want removed, and what has or has not worked with previous cleaning companies. We go back and forth, make adjustments, and refine the plan until it makes sense for both sides.

Every building runs differently. Every client has different priorities. Our goal is to make sure they feel heard from the beginning.

Where Planning Becomes Strategy

Before the first cleaning ever begins, Julio and I sit down and map out the operation.

This is where two different backgrounds come together. Julio brings years of law enforcement experience where planning, structure, and operational clarity are essential. I bring years of hands-on cleaning experience, understanding how facilities function and how teams move through them efficiently.

Together, we treat this stage almost like building an operational blueprint.

We look at the facility and ask important questions:

From there, we begin shaping what becomes the cleaning system for that specific facility.

It is not guesswork. It is a structured process that results in a clear Standard Operating Procedure for our team. When the cleaners walk into the building, they are not trying to figure things out on the spot. They already know the flow, the priorities, and the expectations.

That preparation allows our team to work confidently, stay organized, and deliver consistent results.

For us, commercial cleaning is not simply about showing up with supplies. It is about building a thoughtful system that supports the client, the facility, and the people doing the work.

Understanding How a Facility Actually Runs

This level of planning becomes even more important in commercial cleaning because many locations are not simple.

Sometimes a client already has a system in place, but it has not been working well. Sometimes the previous cleaning company rushed, missed details, or never really learned how the building operated. In other situations, the client themselves may still be figuring out what works best for their staff and facility.

And honestly, that is okay.

We are not afraid of that part. It simply means we need to listen, observe, communicate, and build a system that actually works for that location.

A Real Example From the Field

Recently, we began servicing a warehouse with three shifts: morning, evening, and weekend.

The client already had a scope of work and knew what they wanted completed, but one of the biggest challenges was timing. The lunch and break areas did not operate on a single schedule, so it was not as simple as saying, “Clean this room at this time.”

When we first started, we focused on a deeper cleaning to catch as much as possible, especially in areas that had been missed before, while still keeping up with the regular work.

Then we started paying attention.

We observed when break rooms were full and when they were empty. We noticed when restrooms were less busy. We looked for moments when certain areas of the warehouse allowed our team more space to work efficiently.

We also listened closely to the client’s team when they shared what times and areas were usually quieter.

Creating a Cleaning System That Makes Sense

From there, we built a system based on what we were seeing.

This is a big part of how we operate at Two Arrows Cleaning Services. We do not simply place a team member in a building and tell them to figure it out.

Instead, we create a flow.

Our team members know what to do first, what comes second, and how the work should move through the building based on how the facility actually operates. Instead of walking in overwhelmed or unsure where to start, they have a structure that helps them succeed.

Why Structure Matters

This approach helps both sides.

For the client, it means the work is completed in a more thoughtful and thorough way.

For the team member, it means they are not feeling scattered or constantly guessing what to do next. They can stay focused, organized, and confident in their work because the structure is already in place.

Our Goal at Two Arrows Cleaning Services

At the end of the day, every facility is different. Our goal is to understand what the client needs, organize the work in a way that makes sense, and create a system that supports both the client and the cleaning team.

We want the client to feel supported.

We want the team walking into that building to feel prepared, clear, and capable.

When both of those things happen, the results speak for themselves.
